18 Then, as he was returning to the city in the morning, he was hungry. 19 And seeing a certain fig tree beside the way, he approached it. And he found nothing on it, except only leaves. And he said to it, “May fruit never spring forth from you, for all time.” And immediately the fig tree was dried up.

12 And the next day, as they were departing from Bethania, he was hungry. 13 And when he had seen a fig tree with leaves in the distance, he went to it, in case he might find something on it. And when he had gone to it, he found nothing but leaves. For it was not the season for figs. 14 And in response, he said to it, “From now on and forever, may no one eat fruit from you again!” And his disciples heard this. 20 And when they passed by in the morning, they saw that the fig tree had dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to him, “Master, behold, the fig tree that you cursed has withered.”
